The property

The Smokehouse Cottage is an charming pet-friendly cottage in the heart of Southwold, nestled away from the main road and steps from the vibrant high street and sandy beach. The property is compact and quirky with part of it dating back to the 19th Century when it was customary for many households to smoke their fish here. The property is ideal for couples or small families to use for a coastal get away, with the addition of a private courtyard garden. On the ground floor the property has a spacious open plan living/dining room, leading through to the kitchen. Wooden carpeted stairs lead you up to the master bedroom, with the second bedroom and bathroom. Ground Floor Wood-effect vinyl flooring leads throughout the property. Sitting/Dining Area This area has been newly refurbished to create the most relaxing space to enjoy. Within the sitting area there is a two seater sofa and two arms chairs to sit back a relax on, with a Smart TV including Netflix provided for your entertainment. There is also USB charging points. The room has been decorated in soothing tones, with subtle nautical touches, with the addition of a panelled wall with an electric flame effect fire and striking spotlights creating a wonderful feature wall. In the dining area there is a spacious wooden table with four dining chairs, perfect for enjoying those culinary delights you have whipped up in the kitchen. From the dining room a stable door leads out onto the courtyard garden at the rear of the property. There is a cupboard under the stairs, you won't find Harry Potter in there but you will find useful household bits including an iron /ironing board, clothes airer, vacuum cleaner and cushions for the garden furniture. Kitchen Wonderfully laid out to make the most of the space. This long kitchen is well equipped with a single electric oven with four ring induction hob, fridge with icebox freezer, slim-line dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster. In addition, there is a washing machine located in the family bathroom. First Floor Wooden carpeted stairs lead up to the first floor, entering directly into the master bedroom. Bedroom 1 With a glimpse of the Lighthouse, this stunning room has carefully decorated to create a tranquil space. There is a wooden double bed with panelled feature wall behind, with two bedside tables wth drawers and two bedside reading lights above. This room has a storage cupboard with hanging space for your belongings. Bedroom 2 Accessed through bedroom 1, this room is ideal for children 10 years and under to enjoy, with 2ft 6 bunk beds. Family Bathroom Located through bedroom 2, this spacious family bathroom has a P-shape bath with over head shower and glass screen. There is a WC, wash basin with mirror and light above, shaving point and heated towel rail. Storage is provided in the vanity units, there is also a washing machine located in the cupboard for guests use. Outside To the rear of the property is a private courtyard garden surrounded by a mixture of brick and pebbled walls complete with courtesy lighting. There is a circular table with four chairs, perfect for dining alfresco. There courtyard has been decorated with an array of beautiful plants and convivial, cosy atmosphere. The property unfortunately doesn't have any allocated parking, however parking can be found on near by roads.

SOUTHWOLD

Lowestoft 13.4 miles; Ipswich 35.1 miles

Southwold is a seaside town situated along the East Suffolk coast within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and resting between Lowestoft and Ipswich. Southwold is known as the home of Adnams Brewery which was established in the town in 1872 and it also has its own lighthouse, a museum and a picturesque pier which has a selection of colourful beach huts and which plays host to the regular Southwold Model Yacht regatta. The town boasts a number of excellent restaurants and eateries with a particular nod to its seaside location so there is always plenty of seafood and fish on the menu. Southwold has some fantastic independent shops, boutiques, galleries and pubs which are great for a browse and to stock up on essentials for your holiday. Just outside Southwold there are a number of great attractions for the whole family including Africa Alive Zoological Reserve, RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich Museum as well as scenic towns such as Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Leiston and Lowestoft to visit.
