“Disappointed in the detail!”
We've stayed here several times before, and always enjoyed our stay, but this time noted a few frays at the edges.
- the entertainment info states the presence of a Firestick to allow streaming of programmes via the TV. No Firestick was obvious, so no possibility of streaming. Eventually discovered it by accident behind a box of tea bags on the top shelf of the kitchen wall cupboard! Plugged it in, but couldn't get it to work.
- the toilet flush in the bathroom only worked intermittently (water ...
We've stayed here several times before, and always enjoyed our stay, but this time noted a few frays at the edges.
- the entertainment info states the presence of a Firestick to allow streaming of programmes via the TV. No Firestick was obvious, so no possibility of streaming. Eventually discovered it by accident behind a box of tea bags on the top shelf of the kitchen wall cupboard! Plugged it in, but couldn't get it to work.
- the toilet flush in the bathroom only worked intermittently (water dribbling constantly into the pan, presumably the valve needs sorting), so couldn't be trusted to flush.
- the extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work, so the room tended to get steamed up.
- the radiators in the bathroom and ensuite both need bleeding, as the top half was permanently cold.
- dust obvious along the top of the bedhead, so a bit more attention to cleaning more thoroughly needed.
We didn't bother to report these at the time, as we were only there for a few days, and it's a pity really, because it takes the edge of what is a delightful and well-appointed duplex. It hasn't put us off considering a return to Seal Cove, but you need to be aware that when you're paying for a top end stay, it's the details that make all the difference
