    “I will be following this survey with a letter of complaint and supporting photos to Sykes detailing my concerns.”

    These include the dampness of the property, the black mould on the walls, the freezer in desperate need of a defrost and clean, the dirty fridge and wallpaper bubbling off the wall due to damp. The cottage advertised as sleeping 5 did but there was only seating for 4 and the dining table was pushed up against the wall making it unusable for 5. Fortunately we were able to visit another property to celebrate Christmas with extended family. As you can see from my concerns I was extremely unhappy ...

The property

You are welcomed into a porch which opens into the large open plan sitting/dining/kitchen area, beyond that there is the master bedroom and inner hall which leads to two further bedrooms and the shower room. Outside the property enjoys an enclosed west facing garden with a raised sun terrace enjoying glimpses of the sea down the side of the property and a stretch of lawn. Guest have principle access on foot via the path to the north of Garden Cottage, or on foot over the neighbour’s driveway. Parking can be found on nearby streets. Sheltered Porch Sheltered area providing cover to the front door with cupboard ideal for windbreak and crabbing nets. Entrance Porch Accessed through a timber door with a beautiful circular porthole window. Tiled flooring and boot cupboard. Open Plan Sitting/Dining/Kitchen Large dual aspect room offering views over the gardens through a large bay window. The sitting area has a 3 seater sofa, armchair and flat-screen TV with DVD player as well as USB memory stick capability which can play music through the TV. The dining area has a table and 6 chairs. The kitchen has a wide range of timber wall and base units with wood effect work surfaces incorporating a stainless steel sink unit with mixer tap and tiled splashbacks. There is an integrated 4 ring electric hob/single oven with overhead extractor hood, dishwasher, fridge and microwave. There is also a breakfast bar with wood effect work surfaces and bar stools. Bedroom One Window offering view over the side aspect. King-sized bed with side tables and lamps. Fitted double wardrobe cupboard. Inner Hall Laundry cupboard housing the boiler, slatted shelving, freezer and washing machine. Bedroom Two Window offering views over the side aspect. King-size zip and link bed (can be made into twin request) with side tables and lamps. Fitted wardrobe cupboard Bedroom Three Single bed with side table and lamp. Shower Room Fully tiled room with shower cubicle, pedestal wash basin with mixer tap, low suite W.C, heated towel rail and recessed ceiling spotlights. Outside Garden Cottage enjoys a west facing garden with a raised sun terrace enjoying glimpses of the sea down the side of the property. Access to the enclosed garden can be gained from the outside either via a gate next to the front door or via a gate along the path to the North of the property. There is a back door to the garden from the kitchen area.. There is a further stretch of lawn with the borders defined by timber panelled fencing. Please note that the property does not have parking. Guest have principle access on foot via the path to the north of Garden Cottage, or on foot over the neighbour’s driveway. Parking can be found on nearby streets.

SOUTHWOLD

Lowestoft 13.4 miles; Ipswich 35.1 miles

Southwold is a seaside town situated along the East Suffolk coast within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and resting between Lowestoft and Ipswich. Southwold is known as the home of Adnams Brewery which was established in the town in 1872 and it also has its own lighthouse, a museum and a picturesque pier which has a selection of colourful beach huts and which plays host to the regular Southwold Model Yacht regatta. The town boasts a number of excellent restaurants and eateries with a particular nod to its seaside location so there is always plenty of seafood and fish on the menu. Southwold has some fantastic independent shops, boutiques, galleries and pubs which are great for a browse and to stock up on essentials for your holiday. Just outside Southwold there are a number of great attractions for the whole family including Africa Alive Zoological Reserve, RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich Museum as well as scenic towns such as Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Leiston and Lowestoft to visit.
