The family bathroom is also on the ground floor and accommodation on the first floor comprises a King room and a twin room, both with original oak floors and exposed ceiling timbers and charmingly furnished. 7 Church Street is a Grade II listed property which dates back the early 1700's, built by French Huguenots escaping from France to avoid Religious persecution. The main structure of the property is made from oak beams which were salvaged from ships, and supported by local red brick. Ground floor The ground floor of 7 Church Street is open plan with an oak floor running throughout; offering a great space for friends and family to enjoy each other’s company. Living Room Guests are welcomed from directly into this charming room from Church Street. The room retains wonderful period features with the handsome inglenook brick fireplace housing a wood burner and exposed ceiling timbers. The owners have furnished it in a contemporary style with comfortable sofa, two armchairs and coffee table it is equipped with a Smart TV with DVD, Freeview, iPlayer and iPod docking station. A corner cupboard is ideal for storing coats and muddy or sandy footwear. An open door frame nicely divides the living area from the kitchen and there is an additional opening above the butler’s sink, allowing the ‘scullery maid’ to chat to guests whilst preparing a meal! Kitchen/Breakfast Room Beautifully fitted with painted wooden units and oak work surfaces, the kitchen is well equipped with integrated slimline dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, washer/dryer, wine cooler and freestanding microwave. The chef of the family can prepare meals on the dual fuel cooker with electric oven and separate rotisserie, five ring gas hob plus extractor fan, and a circular table with four chairs are provided for guests wishing to enjoy breakfast or dine in the comfort of the cottage. The room is particularly light with a skylight and opening into the garden room/conservatory. Garden Room This is a great place to relax with a book at any time of the year. A door opens onto the garden for the summer months and the room is fully heated and double glazed so ideal in winter too, with conservatory-style sloping roof and wall of windows giving ample light. There are a couple of cane chairs and a footstool. Family bathroom This ground floor bathroom has a tiled floor and a panelled bath with wall mounted shower above plus shower screen, WC, small washbasin, and heated towel rail. First floor A door opens from the living room directly onto the original wooden, steep and angled stairs with handrail, leading to the first-floor landing with sloping ceiling. Both the double and twin rooms open off the landing and the first floor has the original oak floor running throughout. There is a blanket chest for owners’ storage exclusively. Master bedroom This charming dual aspect bedroom has views over Church Street and the garden. It's furnished with a King size bed, bedside tables and lamps, plus a built-in wardrobe and ornate chest of drawers with mirror, giving ample storage space. Twin bedroom This cosy twin has plenty of character with a stained glass window onto the landing, it’s beams and brick fireplace housing a chest of drawers. Furnished with twin beds with metal frames and a bedside unit with lamp, the room has a window overlooking the garden. Outside 7 Church Street is a mid-terraced holiday cottage on a relatively quiet street near the heart of Southwold. There is no allocated parking however, guests can offload outside the cottage where there are single yellow lines and park in a nearby car park, where short stay passes are available, or on a nearby road where there is unrestricted parking. At the rear of the cottage is a small delightful gravelled garden where guests can relax and enjoy the sea air with a beautiful wooden table and four chairs - perfect for dining alfresco. The garden is surrounded by a painted fence giving privacy; there are attractive planted pots, a shed for the owner’s use and a gate giving access to a rear walkway

Lowestoft 13.4 miles; Ipswich 35.1 miles

Southwold is a seaside town situated along the East Suffolk coast within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and resting between Lowestoft and Ipswich. Southwold is known as the home of Adnams Brewery which was established in the town in 1872 and it also has its own lighthouse, a museum and a picturesque pier which has a selection of colourful beach huts and which plays host to the regular Southwold Model Yacht regatta. The town boasts a number of excellent restaurants and eateries with a particular nod to its seaside location so there is always plenty of seafood and fish on the menu. Southwold has some fantastic independent shops, boutiques, galleries and pubs which are great for a browse and to stock up on essentials for your holiday. Just outside Southwold there are a number of great attractions for the whole family including Africa Alive Zoological Reserve, RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich Museum as well as scenic towns such as Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Leiston and Lowestoft to visit.
