The property

On entering the front door you know you’re somewhere special with quality furnishings and fittings throughout, starting with the large L-shaped kitchen/dining room with double doors onto the patio, a utility room and elegant drawing room with an open fire on the ground floor. Ideally positioned to make the most of the views over South Green to the marshes and sea beyond, the elegant living room sits on the first floor, together with three bedrooms, one with en-suite shower and the chic family bathroom. Few bedrooms can beat the master suite with views of the sea from the bed, an en-suite shower, two balconies where you can soak up the sun and a palatial bath in the bedroom. The secluded courtyard garden, furnished with table and chairs, tempts you to make the most of the warmer months and sea air, enjoying meals outside and off road parking’s provided for one car with additional parking on nearby roads or car parks and, as you’re so close to the beach and high street, you’re unlikely to use the car much! There’s a charming two-bedroom cottage behind 28 South Green which can be booked in conjunction with the house to accommodate twelve guests in total. Ground Floor You know you’re somewhere special as soon as you step foot into the long hallway with an attractive Victorian tiled floor with drawing room to the right, coat cupboard and cloakroom to the left and grand kitchen/dining/breakfast room through folding doors straight ahead of you. Carpeted stairs rise to the first floor. Kitchen/Dining/Breakfast Room This dream bespoke L shaped kitchen is sure to be the hub of your holiday with beautiful units housing an AGA, fridge, three drawer freezer, electric oven and microwave plus a dishwasher and the sink in the sociable central island and a wall-mounted TV. A large handsome table and chairs sits at one side, conducive to leisurely meals with friends and family whilst at the other side of the L is a trestle table with benches for more relaxed meals or simple suppers. Folding doors on both sides give a wonderful indoor/outdoor lifestyle in warmer weather. Cloakroom With WC and washbasin. Boot/Utility Room With back door so sandy feet and beach gear can stay out of the main house; equipped with the all-important washing machine and tumble dryer. Drawing Room An elegant room overlooking South Green with period features including a beautiful fireplace housing a chic bio ethanol real flame fire, parquet floor and bay window with views of the green. Generous sofas, chairs and coffee tables make this a particularly comfortable and cosy room in autumn and winter. Southwold is a seaside town situated along the East Suffolk coast within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and resting between Lowestoft and Ipswich. Southwold is known as the home of Adnams Brewery which was established in the town in 1872 and it also has its own lighthouse, a museum and a picturesque pier which has a selection of colourful beach huts and which plays host to the regular Southwold Model Yacht regatta. The town boasts a number of excellent restaurants and eateries with a particular nod to its seaside location so there is always plenty of seafood and fish on the menu. Southwold has some fantastic independent shops, boutiques, galleries and pubs which are great for a browse and to stock up on essentials for your holiday. Just outside Southwold there are a number of great attractions for the whole family including Africa Alive Zoological Reserve, RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich Museum as well as scenic towns such as Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Leiston and Lowestoft to visit.
