“What a great find Lapwings was.”

Clean, warm and comfortable. Everything we needed was there, a real home from home. Thank you for the wine and biscuits. It's very quiet round there but is still close to the town. There's 2 supermarkets 5 minutes walk away and if you don't fancy going into town there's the Railway Inn or The Old Generator Station nearby. There's a lovely sunny garden but beware of the clothes line halfway down in the dark. Ouch! A great stay, a lovely holiday and we will be back again.

The property

Lapwings is immaculately presented; decorated in restful tones and fitted with quality appliances, stylish furnishings and wonderfully comfortable beds in both the master and twin bedrooms. The modern kitchen has everything you need for a self-catering holiday and a door to the garden from the living/dining room encourages indoor/outdoor living. Ground floor: Hang your coats on the driftwood style coat rack in the entrance hall and make yourselves start to unwind! The kitchen sits to the right, followed by the cloakroom and the living-dining room at the back of this end of terraced house. Carpeted stairs rise to the first floor and the ground floor is a stylish wood effect. Kitchen A contemporary kitchen at the front of the house with plenty of light and well-stocked built-in cupboards. Appliances include a built-in electric oven, four ring hob, extractor hood, large fridge and freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, plus a free-standing microwave. Living/Dining Room This light and airy room sits at the back of the house with door to the garden. Contemporary furnishings in shades of grey and pink work well with the quality oak furniture. A wide flat-screen TV sits on a handsome unit by the two three-seat sofas with occasional tables and a blanket chest acting as a coffee table. At the other side of the room is the dining table and four chairs. Cloakroom Simply with WC, washbasin and natural light. First Floor Carpeted stairs rise to the landing with doors to both bedrooms (also with deep carpets) and bathroom. Master Bedroom The solid oak king size bed sits centrally between bedside drawers in this lovely light bedroom at the front of Lapwings. There’s additional storage in a mirrored wardrobe with shelf and a good-sized chest of drawers. Twin Bedroom This lovely light east-facing bedroom sits quietly at the back of the house, overlooking the garden. The divan twin beds have a bedside table with a lamp between them and tallboy in the corner, with hanging space and shelf in the built-in wardrobe. Bathroom Relax in this attractive bright bathroom with textured tiles surrounding the bath, which has a fixed shower over. There’s also a washbasin, WC, heated towel rail and plenty of space for your toiletries with a shelf and basket stand thoughtfully provided. Outside Outdoor space is a key feature here as there’s plenty of space in the east-facing garden which is fully secure, surrounded by a high (approx 6ft) fence with a gate onto a path that takes you onto the footpath leading to the disused railway track. The garden itself is part paved and part shingle with planters and comfy, L-shaped furniture for dining or simply relaxing in the sun – a charcoal BBQ is provided for exactly this! There’s allocated parking for two cars at the front, with five steps and a handrail to the door.

About the location

ALDEBURGH

Thorpeness 2.1 miles; Saxmundham 7.2 miles.

The popular, vibrant seaside town of Aldeburgh is famous for its culture, traditional feel and one of the best fish and chip shops in the country! Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings are home to one of the world’s greatest music festivals and has been named as one of the top 50 places to live in Britain. Crag Path runs along the seafront dividing the beautiful pebbly beach from the unspoilt pastel-coloured seafront properties and the town. The beach is a popular place for groups and couples to enjoy the wonderful fish and chips throughout the summer months. The town is steeped in history and has become a wonderful town for shopping with a good mixture of independent and chain stores to enjoy. The town also offers a good selection of pubs and restaurants or why not buy some freshly caught fish from the huts on the seafront and cook up your own feast at home. For those wishing for a more action-packed holiday there is excellent walking, cycling, sailing and golf at Aldeburgh. Growing in popularity you will want to return to Aldeburgh again and again!
