“Although the stairs to both levels are incredibly steep ( and it does state in the description they are!”

) the house was very well equipped with just about anything you would need . We did have a problem with the washing machine which leaked all over the floor

The kitchen/breakfast room is also a great combination of old and new, with all the equipment you need between here, the utility and laundry rooms, including an Aga, electric oven and two fridges. Steep stairs take you up to the bedrooms, spread between the first and second floors, together with a luxury bathroom and en-suite shower room. There’s ample parking for four cars at the front and a good sized garden at the back with a patio for outdoor dining and lawn with fruit trees and shrubs. The detached Studio in the garden gives additional accommodation for two guests in a king size bed with a fridge and sink so you can make your own refreshments, and an en-suite shower room. THE WHITE HOUSE Ground floor You’re welcomed into an entrance porch with hanging and boot space, before leading into the kitchen/breakfast room, with garden room, utility, cloakroom and laundry beyond. The stairs will be ahead of you and drawing room to the left. In keeping with the period, a clay-tiled floor runs through an entrance hall, kitchen and dining; there's a superb parquet floor in the drawing room and pine floorboards in the garden room. Kitchen/Breakfast Room Full of character with the beams, terracotta tiles and the Aga, combined with a modern kitchen incorporating an electric oven and hob with four rings and extractor and two under counter fridges. A handsome oak table sits by the door to the garden room, with bench and stools. The walk-in larder (up a couple of steps) is ideal for your groceries. Utility Room Under counter freezer and Bosch dishwasher. Cloakroom Off the inner hall with WC and wash-basin. Laundry Room Through the cloakroom with washing machine and dryer for those needing to catch up on the washing whilst on holiday! Garden Room Great at any time of the year with double doors to the south facing patio for summer dining and radiators keeping the chill off in the winter. The room’s furnished with two stylish sofas, an arm chair, toy box and fully stocked book shelf. Drawing Room Impressive room full of character in the feature brick wall which houses a wood burner, beams and beautiful parquet floor, with plenty of space for family and friends to socialise. Three generous sofas will sit around a footstool with an eclectic mix of coffee tables and dressers, plus a TV with BT Sport, Amazon Prime and Netflix for your entertainment. First Floor Steep stairs with a handrail on one side rise and turn to the first-floor landing with a wooden gate at the top. The bathroom sits to one side, the king and twin bedrooms through a little corridor and stairs to the top floor at the back of the house. Bedrooms will be carpeted. Bathroom Wonderful room with modern fittings and accessories combined with period features. A luxurious roll top bath with hand shower is positioned so you can take a leisurely soak looking out of the window onto the garden. There’s also large corner shower cubicle with hand shower on an adjustable pole, wash basin set in a vanity unit and WC. Twin Bedroom Overlooking the drive, this room also has beautiful beams and is furnished with twin wrought-iron beds, a bedside table and additional storage. Double Bedroom Original beams add character to this room which sits at the back of the cottage with a view of the garden and fields beyond. An elegant upholstered king size bed sits between bedside tables and there'll be storage for your clothes. Top Floor Exceptionally steep stairs (more like a ladder) take you to the magically quirky top floor. Attic Bedroom This unique beamed bedroom is furnished with a king size bed with bedside units and drawers. En-Suite Shower Room Space has been well utilised here to fit a corner shower cubicle, WC and washbasin. Single Bedroom Sitting in the eaves opposite the attic bedroom, with relatively low beams and a large single bed. Outside This detached character cottage has parking for four cars at the front and a path runs down the side leading to the sunny south-facing garden where a muntjac and rabbits are occasional visitors. There’s a paved area which is furnished for outside dining, plus a raised lawn with fruit trees and fence next to the field and the added bonus of a summer house with seating, lamps and a heater - an ideal place to retreat with a good book! THE STUDIO Ideal for additional accommodation, this bright beamed room is furnished with a king size bed, bedside tables and storage for your clothes. At one side there's a kitchen area with under counter fridge and sink so you can make your morning drinks without disturbing the house guests! About the location

WORTWELL

Bungay 5.7miles; Harleston 3.4 miles, Framlington Castle 17.5 miles, Southwold 19miles; Aldeburgh 27.7 miles

Wortwell is a picturesque village situated in Norfolk but very close to the Norfolk/Suffolk boundary. It is located on both the River Waveney (which forms the county boundary) and the A143 road, some 13 miles east of Diss and 22 miles west of Lowestoft. The village of Wortwell is one of the few Norfolk villages actually listed in the Domesday Book. Today it is home to an award-winning local pub where you can enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal, and there are plenty of footpaths to wander to soak up the glorious surrounding countryside. The village is situated within easy reach of the Suffolk Heritage Coast and there are endless beautiful towns and villages just a short drive away. Nearby Harleston is a friendly town offering ancient inns, charming individual shops, good restaurants and cafes, an art gallery and local museum, and a weekly market. Bungay is a historic bustling market town where you can enjoy following the local Village Trail or pop into one of the many cafes and shops for a bit of refreshment. Other nearby places include Framlingham Castle, a Norman castle currently looked after by English Heritage and well worth a visit. Wortwell is an ideal location for touring the delights of both Norfolk and Suffolk.
