Water Meadow Cottage is a gorgeous, welcoming, three-bedroom Grade II listed cottage nestled in Suffolk's beautiful Alde Valley, a short drive away from the popular coastal destinations of Aldeburgh, Orford and Dunwich. Set across two floors, this traditional country cottage offers spacious accommodation for a party of six to enjoy. Boasting beautiful oak beams and original rooms, this property consists of an idyllic kitchen/diner with countryside views, cloak room and sitting room on the ground floor. Three bedrooms and a family bathroom are positioned on the first floor. The large south-facing garden, full of flowers and wildlife, includes a big secluded terrace with table and chairs, offering lovely views of the surrounding meadows. Surrounded by fields on three sides, the cottage is ideal for families and nature lovers. The garden is fenced and safe for children. You may well see beautiful Suffolk horses in the next field and glimpse the white barn owl hunting in the meadow at the bottom of the garden. At night, there's little local light pollution and the sky is often amazingly starry. Ground Floor Entering into the entrance hall, with space for coats and shoes. Kitchen/Dining Room A light and airy room with uninterrupted views across the garden and countryside beyond. The kitchen is a delightful space in which to prepare delicious food and is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need to whip up a culinary storm. This includes an electric oven with gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine, kettle and toaster. Enjoy those delicious meals at the beautiful traditional wooden table enjoying the stillness outside the french doors. Sitting Room A truly charming space with original beams and wood-burning stove within the inglenook fireplace. The owners have created a space for all ages to enjoy, whether it is simply enjoying the relaxing space with a cup of tea, or enjoying the HD Smart TV with freeview, DVD/Blu-ray player with a growing selection of films or even one of the 50 Penguin classics on the bookshelf! There is a handy desk and chair provided for those needing to do a spot of work. Saxmundham is a small market town located on the River Fromus, in the heart of Suffolk’s Heritage Coast. The town is well serviced with independent shops, local museum, supermarkets and a train station, as well as art galleries, a weekly market and a farmers’ market. Situated so close to the coast, Saxmundham is a great base for a seaside holiday; within easy reach of Aldeburgh and Thorpeness, as well as Dunwich, Southwold and Walberswick, you could enjoy a different coastal location each day. Also close by is the inland market town Framlingham with beautiful historic architecture, a castle and an array of independent shops. South of the town there is the well known tourist destination of Sutton Hoo, an ancient Royal Anglo-Saxon burial site. With Ipswich an easy drive south, and Norwich an easy drive north, there’s so much to see and do in and around Saxmundham.
