The swimming pool was a big hit which we used daily. You get the pool to yourself, pre bookable 30 minute slots.
- Jennie, August 2023Hazel “We had a very enjoyable stay at the muddy pig for our 2 weeks there, the accommodation was very clean and tidy and had all of the amenities that you could want from an accommodation such as this, There were just a couple of small things that let this down, the holiday folder provided stated that there was a mop in the accommodation, however we could not find one, it is very difficult to keep the hard floors clean especially when you take a pet, the bins at the end of the lane are very small for 4 lodges, only 3 were occupied while we were there and they filled up very quickly, make sure you are recycling to make the use of both bins, and the fridge was not very good, things in it either came out frozen if you put them towards the back or warm if they were near the front, all that being said, the accommodation was very well presented, clean and comfortable, and was centrally located for visiting all that Suffolk has to offer, we would stay again.”

We did have an issue with the Heating and Hot Water which was resolved the same day (Thank you!) but we did have cloudy/dirty water which was clear by the Monday but as a constant tap water drinker was a bit off putting. It won't deter us from booking again it was just one of those things. Many thanks Nicky and Michelle

Attractions to pay a visit to include Framlingham Castle, Halesworth Museum, Go Ape Thetford, Africa Alive Zoological Reserve and Easton Farm Park. If you want to get at one with nature then check out RSPB Minsmere, Orford Ness Nature Reserve and Dunwich Forest, and don’t forget to take your camera for some wonderful photo opportunities. Halesworth 6.7 miles.
Laxfield is about half-way between the Suffolk market towns of Halesworth and Framlingham, just 40 minutes' drive from the coast at Southwold or Aldeburgh. Just off the main road, called The Street, lies the school and pre-school, the village hall and the Baptist chapel. In the centre, near the wonderful All Saints Church and the historic Guildhall are a thriving modern Co-op store and two charming pubs. Close by, Halesworth is full of character, with old buildings, a weekly market held on a Wednesday and a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants. The beautiful Suffolk Heritage Coastline features unspoilt heathlands and the RSPB Minsmere Nature Reserve, whilst the delightful coastal towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh are all within a short drive.
