    “Superb location and dwelling.”

    ..really well designed in that cool midcentury modern form. We loved it and the owner's taste and appointments. Not exactly warm but fun and engaging...but it is special. As presented and better. A bit cool but it is Ely in the Spring! Thanks for sharing the space.

The property

This unique single-storey property is perfectly suited to couples looking to get away from it all with lots to do and see only a short drive away. With lawned garden and sun deck at the back couples can enjoy sunny alfresco dining from the BBQ and cosy nights beside the open fire. Living Room With panoramic views along the full length of this amazing room, guests at The Ellis Miller House can simply relax and look out over uninterrupted countryside and farmland. Your feet will be toastie warm on the heated parquet floor and the fireplace takes centre stage separating the room in two, with a quiet reading space at the far end. There's a soft leather three-seat sofa and armchair and a large glass coffee table with a selection interesting architectural design books to peruse. The glass doors along the front of the property slide all the way open letting the outside in. For privacy, when the doors are closed there are external electric blinds. For your entertainment, the property offers a flat-screen TV with Freeview and BT YouView for your Netflix or Prime Video. There's a DVD player and lots of DVDs to choose from. Kitchen/Dining A very well proportioned room with everything you need for cooking at home. The single oven is situated in the central island with a ceramic induction hob and extractor over. Granite work surface with two circular sinks runs along one side of the room with a fridge, washer/dryer and slimline dishwasher underneath. On the other side of the room are a circular table and four chairs with funky purple cushions. Windows with blinds run along the back wall and there's a door leading out to the carport. Bedroom Tucked away at the rear of the property is the carpeted bedroom which features a king-size bed with bedside tables and lamps either side. Guests have plenty of storage in the six large drawers and single wardrobe with hanging rail. Wide windows with blinds run along one side of the bedroom looking out to the garden and there's a door to the en suite bathroom. En Suite Bathroom Snug but with everything you need, the en suite bathroom features a bath with shower over, a WC and basin. There's a window for natural light and ventilation and plenty of space on the windowsill for your lotions and potions. Wet Room Beside the bedroom through a door from the living space is a small wet room with shower, WC and hand basin. Outside Behind The Ellis Miller House is a lawned garden with mature shrubs and trees and a fence to three sides. To the side of the carport which has space for two cars, is a sun deck with BBQ and two deck loungers which are stored in the locked shed. Guest can also use the shed to store bikes securely. Further off-road parking can be found on the gravelled space just a little further along the road.

Nestling in the East Cambridgeshire Fenland countryside is the small historic city of Ely, oozing with charm and beauty. Seen from afar is Ely’s beautiful cathedral with its unique Octagonal tower. The cathedral is also home to the only national Stained Glass museum in England. Visit Oliver Cromwell’s house where you can step back in time and see how his family would have lived in the mid 17th century, or visit Ely Museum, housed in the city’s old gaol. Ely also offers a beautiful waterside area on the River Great Ouse where you can enjoy relaxing boat trips, leisurely riverside walks, explore the antique shops, or visit the Babylon Art Gallery. Stop off at one of the local eateries for a light lunch, afternoon cream tea or to sample traditional ales and listen to music being played in the Jubilee Gardens. Ely also offer excellent leisure facilities which include a swimming pool, golfing, national cycling routes, and walking trails. Within a short drive from Ely local attractions include Wicken Fen and Welney Wetlands Centre or Burwell Museum with historic buildings portraying village life from the stone age to present day with cars, machinery, schools to village shops. The university city of Cambridge is just 17 miles, offering a wealth of places of interest to visit.
