The Pink Cottage is an elegant Georgian townhouse, occupying a prominent position on Aldeburgh’s High St. The house is set out on 3 floors, its light spacious rooms make it ideal for families, with space for up to four children or 2 couples with 2 children. The whole house has a bright and airy feel with well proportioned rooms, high ceilings and large windows, painted in a palette of whites and creams it has simple contemporary fixtures and fittings, making it an easy place to relax for a few days or longer.

On the ground floor there’s a living room with a wood-burning stove, a bathroom and a bunk bedroom.  The first floor has two bedrooms (1 king, 1 twin) and an en-suite shower room.  The lower-ground floor has a kitchen with large separate dining room and a cloakroom with a w.c. There is a pretty walled garden, ideal for children to play in or for adults to enjoy a barbeque or evening drink.  The house has wireless internet access.

The accommodation

Ground Floor:  

Inside, the side entrance door opens into a hallway with slate tiles.

Living room:  The living room is well appointed with a wood-burning stove and leather sofas, a flat screen TV and Sky freesat channels, DVD player, there is a broad selection of DVDs and books to use during your stay, an ipod base station, and Wifi broadband connection. A Lawrence Coulson seascape adds to the relaxing feel of the house. The large windows overlook the High Street.

Bedroom 3: Bedroom 3 is a small but cosy room with pale blue stripe linen curtains, it has a set of bunk beds, with a chest of draws, mirror and shelves. The window overlooks the enclosed courtyard below.

Bathroom: The family bathroom has a shower cubicle, separate bath, w.c. and hand basin on white-washed floor boards.

A straight staircase leads to the first floor, where you’ll find bedrooms 1 and 2.

First Floor

Bedroom 1: A bright spacious room with a king-sized bed, oak chair, and oak furniture which includes a chest of draws and bedside cabinets. There’s a large walk in wardrobe and sash windows overlooking the high street.

En-suite to Bedroom 1: There’s a shower, a w.c. and a hand basin

Bedroom 2 is a light and sunny room with two pine single beds, a painted wardrobe and chest of draws with a mirror above. The windows overlook the garden to the rear of the property.  

Lower ground floor:  

Returning to the ground floor hallway, a flight of slightly narrower stairs lead down to the lower ground floor, where you’ll find the kitchen, dining room and an additional w.c. A door leads from the kitchen to an enclosed walled private patio area with access to the High Street.

Kitchen: The kitchen is finished in light cream units and is fully equipped with a built in oven and hob, combination oven and microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier and fridge freezer.

Dining room: From the kitchen through glass panelled doors there is direct access to the large dining room with an oak table able to seat 6 people comfortably, it is a large easy space to enjoy mealtimes, and the room is lit by a window to the front of the property. To the side of the table, a pair of wicker chairs create an ideal spot for reading or relaxing with a cup of tea or even a glass of wine.

Outside:

From the kitchen there’s a walled courtyard which is very peaceful and catches the sun, with garden furniture, and a BBQ.

On road parking is usually available in nearby side streets or in the church car park about 50 metres walk away for a donation.

About the area

The Pink Cottage is located in the heart of Aldeburgh, on the corner of the High Street and Victoria Road, at the north end of the High Street. The restaurants, pubs and shops are a couple of minutes walk away, as it the beach.

What’s included?

All prices include bed linen and towels, gas and electricity plus a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits to help you get your break off to a relaxing start.

The cottage is equipped with gas central heating and a wood burning stove, flat-screen TV with Sky Freesat channels, DVD/CD player, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, fridge and freezer, and a BBQ.

Travel cot and high chair available on request.

3. How to pay. When you have filled out your booking form you can choose to pay online by credit or debit card or send a cheque. A 25% deposit is requested at the time of your booking. The balance and a £100 returnable good housekeeping deposit (subject to terms and conditions) are due six weeks before your holiday commences. Please note there is a 1.5% charge for credit card payments. There is no charge for debit card or cheque payments.
