About the area
This 2nd floor self catering apartment is situated by the Waterside Marina in the small historic port town of Brightlingsea. The promenade is lined with beach huts and there are a good selection of independent shops nearby. The harbour has 500 births and welcomes visiting boats. Explore the area with our five top tips:
1) Take a stroll up the Western promenade, past the colourful beach huts to the lido swimming pool and pretty boating lake. Watch the boats being launched on your way back.
2) Catch the passenger and cycle ferry from the harbour across the river to East Mersey or Point Clear.
3) Jump in your car and take a visit to The Beth Chatto Gardens (around 15 mins) or Colchester Castle (around 30 mins). Frinton and Clacton are also nearby.
4) Explore Brightlingsea’s shops, including a butchers, bakers, fishmongers, chemist, newsagent and a fish and chip shop. Stop for lunch the Coach House café, or the Yachtsman’s Arms, both close to the apartment.
